EPA Launches Video Project Asking Americans Why “Water is Worth It”

2012 marks the 40th anniversary of the Clean Water Act, the nation’s law for protecting our most irreplaceable resource. Everyone deserves clean water – it is vital for our health, communities, environment and economy.

To help commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Clean Water Act, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is asking people to send in a 15-second video clip about the important role that water plays in their life. Each video should include the phrase “Water Is Worth It,” but the rest is up to you. EPA will post selected videos on its website and Facebook page.

To learn more, visit Clean Water Act 40th Anniversary

Fill out a video entry form, and submit your entry as a video response to the promotional video on EPA’s YouTube page at http://www.youtube.com/USEPAgov. Video submissions must be received by September 14, 2012.

Grab your friends, family, coworkers, neighbors, classmates, and pets and let us know why “Water is Worth It” to you!

Conserve Water and Save Money

EPA Administrator Tours WaterSense Manufacturing Facility to Highlight Products that Conserve Water / Consumers also save money with WaterSense
On Friday, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lisa P. Jackson toured the Moen Incorporated facility in North Olmsted, Ohio to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the WaterSense program. Moen is the 2010 WaterSense Manufacturer Partner of the Year. During the visit, Administrator Jackson joined by Mike Bauer, President of U.S. Businesses, and Ed Fitzgerald, County Executive of Cuyahoga County spoke with laboratory employees and viewed the lab where Moen’s WaterSense labeled products are designed and tested to ensure plumbing appliances save consumers water and money.

No trees were killed in the sending of this message. However, a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

At the push of a button

Is how things happen today. I was driving Nick and his friend to school this morning when he asked me how much money was in his account. After I told him I then said I would check with my phone when I dropped him off since ‘I have an app for that!’ The amount was $20 less then I had told him in the car, his reply was ‘that makes sense I just bought a data plan.’

So in the time it took us to drive to school, he bought something and the money came out of the account. At the touch of a button.

In fact I’m posting this from Panera while waiting for my tea to cool.

Broken Hot Spot

If you don’t know what a hot spot is, it is like your own personal router. I have one on my Palm. It is the feature I like the most. I use it so I can go online with my iPod Touch. Which is important because MLB at bat is on my iPod Touch and I can then watch or listen to the game.

Except for today when I tried to use the hot spot during the game, it died on me. Just freakin’ died. I was so upset. No game for Suzi. 😦

Reposting one more app

To see if it will go to Facebook.

In my previous post I didn’t write about this app. Mainly because I hadn’t used it. It’s the WordPress app and with it I can post straight from my iPod to my blog. I can put pictures in, change the size, put multiple pictures in even. Formatting is limited though. So I have to go online to pretty it up sometimes. I haven’t had much time with it to figure out everything.

Like this time, I had to come here and reinsert the pictures. But one of the things I like about WordPress is the pictures are in a gallery so I can just show, then change the alignment and size and insert in post. So easy.
